Area 03 of 04

Social inclusion, migration & territorial development

Strengthening social cohesion, access to rights and local governance, close to territories.

Territories are where access to services, the integration of people and trust in institutions play out most concretely. We support public and civil-society actors so that local development benefits everyone, including people on the move.

Key issues

  • Access to rights and services

Ensuring effective access to basic services — health, education, protection, justice — for the populations furthest from existing systems.

  • Human mobility and integration

Supporting reception, integration and sustainable return policies, in line with local and regional realities.

  • Territorial disparities and governance

Narrowing gaps between territories through participatory planning and local authorities equipped to act.

Areas of intervention

  • Social cohesion and living together

Community dialogue, mediation, spaces for citizen participation.

  • Migration, mobility and integration

Local reception policies, orientation, inclusion and links with diasporas.

  • Access to rights and basic services

Service mapping, information systems, administrative and legal support.

  • Local governance and participatory planning

Local development plans, participatory budgeting, strengthening of local authorities.

  • Sustainable territorial development

Territorial diagnostics, attractiveness strategies, cooperation between territories.

  • Youth and socio-professional integration

Guidance pathways, training, bridges to employment and entrepreneurship.

How we work

We build on listening to residents and local actors: territorial workshops, interviews, shared mapping. Findings are built with them, which makes it easier for results to be taken on board.

We take care to link the local level to national and regional frameworks, so that the solutions tested can be replicated elsewhere.
